Essays on Stone and Light: Works by The MacInnes Brothers
Essays in Stone and Light - Works by the MacInnes Brothers: Was a collaboration with my expressive mosaic artist brother, Dugie MacInnes. Using two art mediums, we created unique representations of childhood in the same Scottish village.
My brother creates abstract impressions using Scottish slate to illustrate scenes from childhood memory. His relationship with the landscape was profoundly influenced by local geology and archaeology. Different stimuli influenced my childhood experience. My photographs present a more literal interpretation of early memories. However, we both celebrate autobiographical themes.
