Essays on Stone and Light: Works by The MacInnes Brothers
Essays in Stone and Light - Works by the MacInnes Brothers: A collaborative project with my expressive mosaic artist brother, Dugie MacInnes. We produced two interpretations, using two different art mediums, to illustrate childhood memories of the same Scottish village.
My brother creates abstract impressions using Scottish slate to illustrate scenes from childhood memory. His relationship with the landscape was profoundly influenced by local geology and archaeology. Different stimuli influenced my childhood experience. My photographs present a more literal interpretation of early memories. However, both celebrate autobiographical themes.
