Nina, new project - "One Thing Leads to Another"
Over the years I've made casual attempts to locate Nina's grave site, but my searches were unsuccessful, until recently that is. Turns out she's buried, along with her late husband and daughter, one-mile from the antiques mall where I discovered her photos in 1993.
The journey continues. In fact, the journey will next take me to three locations: Nina's ancestral home in Finland; Ishpeming, Michigan, where her parents migrated in 1882, and Brown County, South Dakota, where her family established a homestead in 1884.
To initiate this new journey with Nina I made some images at her grave site - a pivotal location for obvious reasons. Next I journeyed to the area where Nina's family established a homestead in Brown County, South Dakota. The church and adjacent graveyard established by the Finnish settlers, and where Nina's ancestral family are buried is another significant anchor point.
To be continued.....
