Honeymoon in Finland.
Honeymoon in Finland is the second chapter of a project inspired by the serendipitous discovery of an album of family photographs abandoned in a Denver antiques store. The photographs were made by a North Dakota woman (Nina Weiste) in 1917. My family album intersecting with Nina's was the overall premise of the first chapter, which concluded with the publication of a book, Family Album (2017). Chapter Two, Honeymoon in Finland, extends the narrative to include the landscape of Finland, Nina's ancestral home. Intimacy and photography are the principal themes of exploration.
